A new fascia tool!✨

Hello!

A couple of updates:

1. This week, I'm traveling to Portland, Oregon, to take part in an upcoming Neuroqueer Somatics Learning Lab for Somatic and Mental Health Practitioners, which I've had the great joy of helping to plan. I'll also be teaching some and supporting the process. Helping facilitator Finn Gratton bring this gathering into being has been so fun that I think I've added a new job title: Workshop Doula. I'll let you know how the workshop goes!

2. There's a new fascia tool in town, and it's a game-changer!

I've been lucky enough to be in a 6-week pilot study for this new tool. After participating in the study, my connective tissue is more toned, fluid, and coherent. Micro-adhesions have dissolved--not all of them, but many of them.

I'm lifting heavier in my workouts, and now workouts often feel effortless: my movements are more coordinated, and I have more energy. On days when I haven't gotten enough sleep, using the fascia hydrator energizes me, not in a hyped-up way; more like calm, focused energy. I like that!

💫Can you tell that I love this tool?

It's called the MELT Fascia Hydrator, and it uses vibration to tone and heal connective tissue.

Why vibration? Vibration is the language of life. Every cell, every tissue, every system in the body communicates through oscillations, pulses, waves, and rhythm. From the beat of the heart, to the rise and fall of breath, to the subtle hum of fascia responding to fluid shifts—life is movement, and movement is vibration.

That is why the MELT Fascia Hydrator is so effective: it speaks directly to your fascia in its native language. When we apply gentle vibration to the body, the fascia "hears" it and begins to rehydrate, release micro-adhesions, and restore coherence.

What's in it for you:

🌊 If you're an athlete, this could be one of the best tools for warming up, preventing injuries, and supporting recovery. 🌊 And if you live with chronic pain, this might be your new best friend.

The gentle vibrations hydrate connective tissue, moving the lymph, and decreasing inflammation.

✨It can be a great pre-workout tool, and it can also be a big help to those who can not access exercise, because it moves the tissue for you.

✨ The MELT Fascia Hydrator

  • Boosts lymphatic flow
  • Improves circulation
  • Rehydrates fascia + supports collagen synthesis
  • Eases tension + calms the nervous system

I am hesitant about sharing this one (because I don't want to support toxic diet culture!): it is clinically proven to improve skin tone and reduce cellulite if you care about that.

And, some studies show vibration helps build the bone.* Sometimes, after a session, my bones feel deeply supported, like they are getting nourished. Who knows??

Is this right for everybody? Will it be the miracle elixir to heal all-the-things? Nope! ✨ No single tool is right for everyone, and it's important to honor the uniqueness of your body. If you have underlying conditions, please consult with a healthcare practitioner before trying it.

As my friend Grace Quantock, author of "Living Well with Chronic Illness: Write Your Own Map to Healing in Tough Times" says, "It's important to understand, there's no single way that works for everyone, especially for those with chronic illnesses." Yes! This might not work for everyone, and, for many with chronic illness, its use will need to be adapted to suit their particular needs. This is not about fixing. It's about personalized care. Let's find what works best for you.

I'm happy to work with your healthcare practitioner to see if this tool will be supportive for you.

💫 Please respond if you have questions. Also, let me know if you'd be interested in a Zoom to learn more.

with care,

♥️🌊

Somanotes for Somanauts

Expect reflections on the fascia, somatics, and neurodivergence. Let's take a good look at the web of relationships that connect us from within and without— in the mind and the body, in our communities and in the world.

Hi friend, Consciousness is consistent. It permeates everything. In the realm of movement, this is easy to track. From tiny tendrils of cilia that undulate and purr in our fluid matrix to functional movements like getting out of the car to more explosive (also functional) movements like running, jumping, or lifting heavy things…the movement of our consciousness is in it all. It's both particle and wave, and it is everywhere all at once. There’s so much going on that mostly we ignore it…We...

"When the world feels relentlessly heavy, imagination becomes a refuge—not an escape, but a way of refueling the spirit, of making sense of things.”-- Suleika Jaouad So join me for a few minutes as we go under the sea together… Hi friends, So, fish gotta swim, and so do we. Did you ever think about how fish move?… Like, how do they do that side-to-side motion that moves them through oceans, rivers, and streams…through the liquid, viscous substance that they live and breathe in? Remember...

Hi friends, We'll be doing a deep dive into the side body for Tuesday, March 17's 45-minute MELT and More Class at Noon ET. We'll explore and unwind the lateral line of fascia that starts in your foot and travels all the way up your side body to your jaw! Do you have side-body issues? Does one side always cramp up and hurt? Is there an old injury on one side that's always throwing things off-kilter? Let's see if we can open up this line a bit and get you some ease and flow. You can register...
